Joyce Green

Went to be with her Lord at the age of 86 on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at Park Village Pines. She was born on May 27, 1933 to the late James Roelofs and Dena Holthouse. Joyce married Robert Green on June 16, 1951, at her parents' home in Kalamazoo, MI. Settling in Vicksburg, the pair remained together for 65 years. Always an avid reader and book lover, Joyce enjoyed her career as a librarian at the Vicksburg District Library, retiring in 1991. Frequently found tending to her garden, Joyce was an active member of Vicksburg's local Gardening Club. She had a great love for her community and actively volunteered at her church. Joyce was devoted to her family and cherished time spent with those close to her. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; and her son, Michael James. Joyce is survived by her daughter, Cindy Hammond and her husband, Scott; son, David Green and his wife, Amy; grandsons, Jacob, Benjamin, and Noah; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. A memorial gathering will be held for Joyce from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. with a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Lakeland Reformed Church, 10442 Sprinkle Rd, Vicksburg, MI 49097, Arrangements were entrusted to Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 411 E.
