On November 27, 2016 the world lost a giant. Joshua Andersen Locke, age 37, died tragically in a car accident Sunday night. A resident of Kalamazoo since 2005, Joshua was born in Grand Rapids on April 16, 1979. He spent the majority of his youth in Portage, graduating from Portage Northern High School in 1997 and received his Associates Degree from Kalamazoo Valley Community College. He married Margaret Aileen Radford in San Diego on April 15, 2005, where they lived for a short time before returning to Michigan after the birth of their first daughter. Joshua spent his short life as a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, grandson and true friend. He left a lasting impact on this world through his work as a licensed contractor and as a successful tattoo artist. He touched so many lives and will be truly missed by every single person who ever met him. Joshua leaves behind three young children, Hannah Kaitlin age 11, Mary Elizabeth age 9 and John Declan age 7, who are devastated by the loss of their loving father. Joshua is also survived by his father, Hollis II; mother, Vicki; older brother, Hollis III (Maribeth); baby sister; Kaitlin; grandmothers, Patricia, Joyce and Dixie along with numerous loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Joshua was a true artist and loved creating, tattooing, sketching, drawing, carving, and building. Everyone and everything that Joshua touched, whether through friendship or his artistic skill, was left better and more beautiful than before. Friends and family will be received Friday, December 2, 2016 at Oakwood Bible Church; 4100 Oakland Drive, Kalamazoo, MI 49008, beginning at 10:00 a.m. with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Per Joshua's wishes cremation has taken place.
