Joseph Patrick Foy, Sr., 83, of Acme died Sunday, November 8, 2015.
Joseph was born in Detroit to Willard and Catherine Foy on August 3, 1932.
After moving to Traverse City with his wife, Pauline on May 20, 1990.
He started coaching coach many children, including players with the Traverse City Youth Hockey League. He continued his love for hockey and played on a Senior Hockey League on Monday evenings until he was 78 years old. He enjoyed downhill skiing, boating and marina's. He was an avid Detroit Red Wings fan, with the great Gordie Howe being his idol.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Pauline Ann (Slifco) Foy; they were married on Nov. 24, 1956 at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Detroit; children, Sharon (Kirk) Brown of Troy, MI, Joseph Jr. of St. Clair Shores, MI, James Foy of Acme, MI, and Kathleen Foy of Acme, MI; grandchildren, Kirk Michael and Claire Pauline.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Charles Foy.
Private burial was in the Oakwood Catholic Cemetery, Traverse City.
