John Taylor

John L. Taylor, age 80, of Kalamazoo, MI formerly of Crossville, TN passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2016. John was born in Kingsley, Michigan on August 25, 1935, the son of the late Clair L. and Helen (Sarske) Taylor. He retired from the state of Michigan after 37 years of employment. John was an avid baseball historian and a faithful fan of the Detroit Tigers. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann (Werbinski) Taylor in 2012. John is survived by his children, David (Marilyn) Taylor of Milton, FL, Rick (Deb) Taylor of Kalamazoo, Lori Taylor of Kalamazoo, Barb (Gilberto) Sanchez of Mission, TX and Robert Taylor of Kalamazoo; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and sister, Janet (Richard) Bond of Traverse City. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 27, 2016 at 1:30 PM at First Presbyterian Church of Kalamazoo, 321 South St., Kalamazoo, MI 49007, Rev. Mary Van Andel officiating. Private interment will take place at Portage South Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Grand Traverse County Humane Society, c/o of Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home.
