John Lutke

John T. Lutke, age 92, of Scotts, MI passed away early Friday morning, July 22, 2016 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence. He was born on February 6, 1924 in Allegan, the son of the late Albert and Lucy Lutke. On October 11, 1948, John was married to Dorothy L. Dobie. He founded Kalamazoo Swim Pool in 1957, which he owned and operated for many years until his retirement. John was an avid golfer and Detroit Tigers fan. He and Dorothy spent many years wintering in Naples, Florida. Surviving are four children, Michael (Janet) Lutke of Kalamazoo, Judy (Robert) Peter of Howell, John Lutke of Scotts and Scott Lutke of Nashville; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; good friend and companion, Ann Workman of Grand Rapids; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his wife of 50 years, Dorothy Lutke and several brothers and sisters. A funeral service for John was held at 2:00 PM on Monday, July 25, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Avenue. Interment followed in Boughton Cemetery, Scotts.
