Life Story / Obituary
John James Blessinger, age 66, passed away Friday, February 5, 2016, at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Medical Center. He was born in Racine, May 20, 1949, son of John and Virginia (Nee: DeGroot) Blessinger.
John was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and was employed by Goodwill Industries for many years. He enjoyed the Special Olympics, baseball, bowling and square dancing. John was a big fan of the Packers and Brewers and will be dearly missed.
Surviving are his mother, Virginia Blessinger; sisters, Theresa (Joseph) Christoffel of Two Rivers, Cecelia Hoffman, and Virginia Kroll of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, John; his brother, Dennis; brother-in-law, Darrell Hoffman; and a nephew, George Hoffman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, February 11, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1503 Erie St., with Reverend Steve Varghese officiating. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery Crypts. Relatives and friends may meet Wednesday at the funeral home, 4-6 P.M. and on Thursday at the church, 10:30 A.M. until time of Mass. Memorials to the family have been suggested.
