John Henry Olsen

John H. Olsen, age 76, passed away Monday, September 18, 2017 at Ascension All Saints Medical Center. John was born in Gilbertsville, NY, February 1, 1941, son of the late John and Virginia (Nee: Cornwallis) Olsen.

He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1961-63. John was employed by Gormack Products for twenty years and at Andis Clippers for ten years. A photographer, John taught photography for several years at Gateway Technical College. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. He had a great love for cats.

He will be dearly missed by his children, Jennifer Olsen, John Olsen, Christian Olsen; his grandchildren, Jeremy and Christy Coe, John Olsen, Stephanie Koshen, Toby and Samantha Hernandez, Thane, Soren, Gunnar and Chance Olsen; his great-grandchildren, Jeremy Michael Coe Jr., Benjamin Winker, Mason and Briella Koshen; former wife and good friend, Iva Olsen; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandson, Benjamin Olsen; and great-granddaughter, Emily Coe.

Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the funeral home from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. with a funeral service following at 4:00 P.M. Memorials to the family have been suggested.
