John G. Zenner

John G. Zenner, age 83, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center. John was born in Pittsburgh, PA, February 23, 1932, son of the late Ralph and Elizabeth (Nee: Cumming) Zenner.

John was a graduate of Washington Park High School “Class of 1950”. On June 19, 1965 he was united in marriage to Jeanne V. Schliesmann who preceded him in death, December 13, 1999. On May 11, 2004 he was united in marriage to Mary Hoskinson. John was a member of the Moose Club and the Racine Instinctive Bowman. He enjoyed camping, traveling, dancing, and playing cards, especially sheepshead. Above all he cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandkids.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Mary; his children, Bernie Zenner of DuBuque, IA, Suzanne (Frederick) Dooley of Racine, Jeryl (Paul) Sturino of Waterford, Alan (Colleen) Zenner of Powers Lake, Roxanne Zenner, Peter Zenner, Staci Montee, all of Racine; his grandchildren, Jocelyn (Jason) Mish, Jon Ewing (Courtney Walters), Sarah Zenner, Joseph Sturino, Zachary and Zoe Zenner, Greyson and Gabriella Zenner, Haley, Levi and Seth Montee; his great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Juliana, and Sabrina Mish, Cole O’Hare, Quentin Zenner; step children, Glenda (Janusz) Sowinski, Leo (Michelle) Runnels and their children, Jacob and Matthew; brother, David (Madelon) Zenner of Wadsworth, IL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents and first wife he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Jeanne; and brother, Richard.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 16, 2016, 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Mark Jones officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until time of service at 7:00 P.M. Interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Memorials to the Rawhide Boys Ranch have been suggested.
