John F. Francis

John F. Francis of Racine passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2017.

John was born in Racine. He served for 3 years in the US Navy in the South Pacific during World War 2. After 40 years of employment as a tool designer, he retired from Twin Disc. John was a proud charter member and first president of the Racine Astronomical Society, and a member of VFW Post 1351. He was passionate about his membership in the Racine Yacht Club and the American Society of Tool Engineers.

John is preceded in death by parents Mary and Frank, brothers Steven, Frank, Joseph, and James, and his wife Carol. Family include children Jane, Sally, Susan, and Walter and grandchildren Jacqueline, Jacob, Pamela, Brian, and Alexander. He is also survived by many other family and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 2nd, 1-2:30PM at Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home in Racine with Full Military Honors following.
