Surrounded by his loving family, John B. Pomeroy, age 81, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Kenosha, WI, October 29, 1936, son of the late John and Nellie (Nee: LaVelle) Pomeroy.

John proudly served in the United States Air Force stationed in the Philippines. John was united in marriage to Carol C. Kowalsky on April 29, 1961 at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church. John was a truck driver for Merchants Moving and Storage and Western Publishing Company and was a proud member of Teamsters Local 710. His pastimes included camping, fishing, golfing, woodworking, playing cards, and dancing with the Circle 8 Square Dance Club. As a member of the Third Order of St. Francis, John was an active member in his church, serving as Lay Eucharistic Minister. More than anything he loved spending time with his family.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of fifty-six years, Carol; his children, Andrew (Kristen) Pomeroy, Matthew Pomeroy, Thomas (John Blandford) Pomeroy, John (Leann) Pomeroy, Joseph (Bobbie) Pomeroy; 13 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, George and sister, Mary Ann Landa.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, March 9, 2018, 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring Street. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Town of Dover. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Thursday at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and Friday at the church from 10:30 A.M. until time of Mass at 11:00 A.M.
