John A. Mandli, age 91, passed away Tuesday, May 05, 2015. John was born in Theinsville, WI, November 7, 1923, son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Nee: Vernal) Mandli.

During World War II John proudly served in the United States Army Air Corps from 1941-45 while stationed in Italy and North Africa. On September 13, 1947 at St. Rose Catholic Church he was united in marriage to Jean C. Scholler. John was employed by Mohr Jones for over forty years, retiring in 1989. He was a longtime member and usher at St. Rose and St. Richard Catholic Churches. He also served as President of the Union Hall, Retiree’s Club, and was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 35 & 18.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of sixty-seven years, Jean; his children, Debbie (Victor) Kastil of Palm Beach, FL, John (Gerri) Mandli, Todd (Pamela) Mandli, all of Racine; son-in-law, Don Hood; his seven grandchildren, Terri Haddon, Stephanie (Collin) Friesen, Ed Czajkowski (Diane Kompanik), Tricia (Alan) Williams, Ted (Laura) Czajkowski, Jenni (Jeremy) Koenen, Nicole (Andrew) Hajduk; his three great-grandchildren, Jean Koenen, Benjamin Williams, and Gabriel Hajduk; brothers and sister, Peter (Beverly) Mandli, Paul (Rosemary) Mandli, Alex (Jean) Mandli, Esther Kammien; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ann Mandli, Lorraine (Bob) Koss, Judy (Thomas) Konrad; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheri; brothers, Steve, Joseph, Frank; sisters, Mary, Elizabeth, Ann, Helen, and Julia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, May 9, 2015, 11:00 A.M. at St. Richard Catholic Church, 1503 Grand Avenue, with Rev. Ronald Gramza and Rev. Richard Molter concelebrating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the church from 9:30 A.M. until time of Mass at 11:00 A.M. Private interment with Full Military Honors will be held at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Town of Dover. Memorials to St. Richard Catholic Church have been suggested.
