Age 94, died November 4, 2016 in Jackson. He was born October 1922 in Utica, OH the son of Charles and Grace (Gordon) Kerney. Joel was a draftsman for National Waterlift, retiring on September 30, 1987. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia “Ginny” Kerney on January 7, 2016; parents; and siblings: Ed and Paul Kerney, Ruth Williams and Dorothy Richied. Surviving are 3 children: Teri (Ed) Hartmann, Steve Kerney and John Kerney; 7 grandchildren: Kevin and Kim VanderKlok, Krystal, Alyssa, Jessica and Michaela Kerney, and Alissa Hartmann; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and private services are being planned.
