Joan Peterson

Joan E Peterson, age 85, formerly of Kalamazoo, MI died October 30, 2017. Joan, daughter of Stanley R. Sr. and Antoinette (D'Amour) Venne, loving wife of 61 years to Jack K. Peterson, passed away at home in Holland, MI. Joan grew up in Escanaba and lived most of her adult life in Kalamazoo. She was a graduate of Katie Gibbs Secretarial School and had a lengthy career as a legal secretary. Joan loved being with family, playing cards, board games and crossword puzzles. She enjoyed golf leagues and bridge clubs. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, son Jeffrey (Michele), and brothers Stanley (Lois) and Michael (Joan) Venne. She is survived by her husband, son Michael (Cheryl) of Portage and daughters Jennifer and Mary of Holland; grandchildren Chad (Stephanie), Jaime (Gerald Owen), Connor, Quinn, Kyle and Tia; four great grandchildren and sister Mary Lou (Arthur) Thivierge of Chattanooga, TN. A funeral mass will be held at Saint Augustine Cathedral, 542 W Michigan Ave, Kalamazoo, at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, November 17, 2017.
