Joan M. Schulz

Joan M. Schulz, age 85, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Ascension All Saints Hospital. Joan was born in Racine, December 17, 1931, daughter of the late Stanley and Madeline (Nee: Mikulecky) Adamski.

Joan was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1949”. On March 2, 1957 she was united in marriage to Dr. Gilbert A. Schulz who preceded her in death, June 30, 1973. Joan worked for many years for the City of Racine as an Assessor II, retiring in 2002. She enjoyed collecting antiques, but more than anything she was devoted to and cherished time spent with her family.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Matthew (Lynne) Schulz, Roberta Schulz, Nathan Schulz, Linden (Kris) Schulz; her seven grandchildren, Brandon, Rhianon, Jade, Wesley, Amber, Taylor and Payden; her five great-grandchildren, Amayah, Alaynah, Izayah, Ella, and Lily; sister, Mariann Adamski; sister-in-law, Nancy (Jim) Rooney; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Jason C. Schulz on Sept. 20, 1968; and brother, Robert Adamski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, May 30, 2017, 12:00 P.M. at St. Richard Catholic Church, 1503 Grand Avenue, with Rev. Allen Bratkowski officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday at the church from 10:30 A.M. until time of Mass at 12:00 P.M. Memorials to your favorite Racine charity have been suggested.
