Life Story / Obituary
Age 61, died January 6, 2016 at Bronson Hospital. James was born April 8, 1954 in Kalamazoo, the third of five children born to Robert Vern and Joyce Elaine (Albright) Blue and had lived his entire life in the Kalamazoo area. He attended Kalamazoo Public Schools and worked many years in the retail division of the Clark Oil Co., when in 2002, due to an automobile accident he was left disabled and no longer able to work.
In his later years he enjoyed genealogy and did extensive research on his family history and origin.
James was preceded in death by his grandparents: Edward and Iva D. (Slater) Blue, and Clifford J. (Jack) and Thelma E. (Baumgartner) Tobias-Albright; his father on August 15, 1996; a niece, Madison A. Yingling of Columbus, OH on May 8, 2002; and by his step-father, Howard S. Walker of Kalamazoo.
He is survived by his mother, Joyce E. Walker of Kalamazoo; his daughter, Theresa M (Richard) Rice of Pensacola, FL; one brother, Donald E. (Connie) Blue of Kalamazoo; three sisters: Katherine M. Deneau of Battle Creek, Karen L. (Daniel) Ivens of Mattawan and Sharon K. Yingling of Wyoming; two nieces: Angelia E. Blue of Kalamazoo and Lindsay M. Ivens of Mattawan; two nephews: Howard Paul “HP” (Sheila) Deneau III of Portage and Daniel Joseph “DJ” Ivens, Jr. of Mattawan; two great-nieces: Skyler J. Blue of Kalamazoo and Carma L. Deneau; and two great-nephews: Howard Deneau IV and Hayden Deneau.
Services will be held at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, South on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 11 AM.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
