Jerry Allan Olney of Bronson, MI died unexpectedly of heart failure in his home in Bronson, MI on December 17th, 2016. He was 73. Jerry was born on February 4th 1943 in Coldwater, MI to his parents Leo E. Olney and Willow Mae (Lytle) Olney. He was one of five children. He graduated Coldwater High School in 1961 and attended one year at Bob Jones University. He spent his professional life driving truck and had recently retired, though he still found his way behind the wheel of a truck a few times a week. Jerry was married to the love of his life, Pamela J. Scheid, on January 21st, 1995. They spent their years together traveling, antiquing, and loving on their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Jerry loved antique tractors, western novels, and talking politics. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents and his grandsons, Devon Lee Carpenter and Tobin Rees. Jerry is survived by his wife, Pamela J. Olney, his daughters Monica (Mick) Carpenter and Lee (Thomas) Bidwell, his sons Jim (Mary) Gibson and Matthew (Jodi) Gibson, his brother Gary (Carolyn) Olney, his sisters Janice (Roy) Ridenour, Darlene Rehner, and Sheryl (Jay) Lemmermen, his stepchildren Gary (Laurie) Rees, John Rees, and Sue Barricks and 17 grandchildren, 5 great-grandshildren, and multiple nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service to celebrate Jerry's life will be held on Tuesday, December 27th 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at The Radiant Life Church (907 N Ottowa St. Sturgis, MI) with a luncheon to follow. The family will privately scatter Jerry's ashes at a later date. Memorial contributions for the family can be sent to The Radiant Life Church or made out to your local humane society. Jerry's warmth, smile, and laugh will be missed by all who lucky enough to come in contact with him.
