Jerrold "Jerry" Burnette

Burnette, Jerrold "Jerry" 1/31/2023 Oshtemo Jerrold "Jerry" Burnette passed away at Provision Living at Oshtemo on Tuesday, January 31, 2023. He was born to the late James J. and Garnette P. (Niswender) Burnette in Asherville, Kansas. Jerry graduated from Kansas State University in 1961 with a degree in accounting while also maintaining membership in ROTC. After college, he went on to serve in the United States Army for two years and earned the rank of 1st Lieutenant. Jerry was an accountant at the UpJohn Company for several years. He then went on to do accounting for Special Lite Inc. and was the CEO for Select Products Ltd. before retiring. Jerry is survived by his dear wife of 55 years, Verlus; daughter Stacy (Jeff) Taft; grandson Jason Taft, niece Julie Burnette, and nephew Jim Burnette. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Jim Burnette; and sister-in-law Georgia Burnette. A memorial service for Jerry will be held in the spring as will a committal service at Ft. Custer. Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Jerry to Alzheimer's Association.
