Life Story / Obituary
Jeffrey Dean Flegel, age 72, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Medical Center. He was born in Racine, February 11, 1944 son of the late Dean and Lora (Nee: Kramer) Flegel.
Jeffrey graduated from St. John’s Military Academy “Class of 1962”. He then moved on to receive a degree from Milton College. On October 22, 1994 he was united in marriage to Rosa E. Ebinal. Jeffrey was vice president of Reliance Controls Corp. in Racine. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the Racine Yacht Club. Jeffrey was a published author and had designed several northern Wisconsin residences. Most of all he treasured the time spent with family and friends on his boat “Time Machine” and at his summer home in Sister Bay. He will be dearly missed.
Surviving are his wife, Rosa; children, Josh (Keli) Flegel of Hermitage, TN, Emily (Steve) Wilcox of Los Angeles, CA; granddaughters, Emma and Noa; brothers, David Flegel, Michael (Ann) Flegel all of Racine; in-laws, Barbara Ebinal of Racine, Audenia (Stefan) Hefner of Franksville, George Ebinal of Green Bay, Leo Ebinal of St. Augustine, FL, Maria (Jerry) Pusch of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister-in-law Judith Flegel and brother-in-law, Anton Ebinal.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1533 Erie Street,
Wednesday, June 29, 2016, 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Steve Varghese officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday at the funeral home, 5-7 P.M. and on Wednesday at the church, 10:00 A.M. until time of Mass. A separate memorial service will be held in Sister Bay later in the month. Memorials to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, St. Rita’s Catholic Church, or Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Medical Center have been suggested.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to all the Racine and Milwaukee doctors, nurses, and staff who attended to and cared for Jeff during his long illness.
