Our beloved Mother and Mimi passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at the age of 95. Jeddy was born Angella Willena Bradley on February 23, 1925 in South Lyon, MI, the daughter of the late Christina and Clare Bradley. Jeddy was born into a home filled with music, faith, and a deep foundation in the Methodist Church. She was named after her dear Aunt Polly. Her younger sister Jo Ann, pronounced her name "Angedda" which turned into her lifelong name of Jeddy. She met the love of her life, Chuck Wilson, at South Lyon High School and they were married in 1946. They enjoyed a strong loving marriage for 69 years until his death in 2016. She attended Michigan State Normal School earning her certificate in education. She started her career teaching alongside her mother in Salem schools. After WWII and Korea, they started their family in Grand Rapids and eventually moved to Kalamazoo. She was a dedicated mother and her family was the most important thing to her. Jeddy served as a dear friend and mentor to numerous women throughout her life. As her children got older, she was the first teacher and a founding member of the Westwood Cooperative Nursery School. She was very active and believed in service to the community. She played a key leadership role in First United Methodist's partnership with Housing Resources to acquire and renovate the "Eleanor Street House." The home provided a safe haven for many families for years. Jeddy was very active in United Methodist Women, Meals on Wheels, Loaves & Fishes, her MSU Extension Group, Kalamazoo Oratorio Society, and the Ladies Library. She was an accomplished seamstress. It gave her great joy to make quilts and Winnie the Pooh stuffed animals for her grandchildren. Her love will live on in the snuggles and warmth provided by these precious keepsakes. Jeddy is survived by three children, Cyndee (Gary Brammer) Wilson of Kalamazoo, Debbie (Peter) Roon of Portage, and Mitch (Sarah) Wilson of Portage; eight grandchildren, Chrissie Kemple, Andrew Kemple, Jamie (Crystal) Kemple, Jen (Jack Mills) Tomlinson, Matt (Cindy) Roon, Logan Roon, Amanda (Zac) Zedrick, Lindsay (Spence) Fogarty; nine great grandchildren, Julia Kemple-Johnson, Scottie Mead, Jay Wascher, Emerie Kemple, Ty Tomlinson, Lilly and Hannah Roon, Millie and Norah Zedrick, and special niece Midge (Dave) VandeKopple. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son Brad, and sisters Evelyn, Mary Jane, and Jo Ann. A memorial service and interment at Ft. Custer National Cemetery will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements are being made through Filbrandt Family Funeral Home of South Haven. If you wish to leave a condolence for the family, or a story about Jeddy, you can do so at www.FilbrandtFFH.Com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, or a charity of your choice.
