Jeanette Valkner

Jeannette A. Valkner of Portage, MI, age 88, passed away on December 23, 2017, at Rose Arbor. She was born on August 17, 1929, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of the late Joseph and Sara Drahos. Jeannette was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be missed. For over 25 years she was a dedicated teacher at Haverhill Elementary in Portage. Jeannette was united in marriage to her late husband Carl Valkner. She is survived by three children, Carlene, of California, Kirk Valkner, of Portage and Kim Valkner, of California; six grandchildren, Courtney, Katie, Eric, Kristen, Sarah and Laura; three great-grandchildren, Shaun, Dylan and Allie. In accordance with her wishes cremation will take place and she will be laid to rest with her husband at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in the Spring.
