Jeanette "Jenny" Grooters

Jeanette Ruth "Jenny" Grooters, 74 of Empire, died, Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at the Munson Hospice House.

She was born on November 8, 1941 in Rochester, New York the daughter of the late Albert and Alberta (Truman) Bult.

Jenny graduated from Calvin College with a Bachelor's Degree.

She loved her family and enjoyed quilting and her garden. Jenny and Robert worshipped at the Empire United Methodist Church.

Jenny is survived by her husband, Robert L. Grooters of Empire; they were married in 1965 in Rochester, New York; her sons, Robert S. (Mical) Grooters of Grand Rapids and Daniel Grooters of Kentwood; grandchildren, Luke and Jonathan Brummels; son-in-law, David (Katie) Brummels and their five other children, who were considered grandchildren; brother, Conrad (Helen) Bult of Jenison, brothers and sisters-in-law, Herman (Donna) Grooters, Marilyn (Donald) Prince, David (Maryann) Grooters, Karen (Earl) Hale, Sharon (Rick) Schaafsma and Joannie (James) Smith and numerous nieces and nephews

She is also preceded in death by her children, Patrick Albert Grooters and Robin Lynn Brummels and a sister-in-law, Nancy.

Jenny's family would like to thank all the caregivers at Munson Medical Center, the Infusion Center (now, Cowell Family Cancer Center), the Grand Traverse Pavilions and Munson Hospice House. The loving care was a great comfort to Jenny and the family. Her family would also like to thank Pastor Russell and members of Empire United Methodist Church, who were extremely supportive of Jenny and Robert and through there kindness, helped Jenny to experience the love of God.
