Born in Holland, Jean graduated from Holland High School. She was employed as a telephone operator at Bell Telephone and later Hope College. She was also employed by Bredeweg Accounting.
In 1972 her son Steven preceded her in death as well as her husband Ernest in 1989. She was a member of Central Wesleyan Church.
Jean is survived by her children; Daniel and Barb Wehrmeyer of Holland, Jill and Jack Scheerhorn of Holland, Nancy and Rick Solis of Holland, Jane and Brent Bell of Ypsilanti, MI., 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, sister, Irene De Witt of Dunedin, FL., brothers-in-law, Robert Ver Hey of Holland and Roy Wehrmeyer of Holland and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, 11:00AM at Northwood Chapel, Dykstra Funeral Homes, 295 Douglas Ave., Holland with Rev. Mike McKay officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
Friends may call on the family at the chapel, Thursday 10:00AM – 11:00 AM prior to the service.
Memorial gifts may be given to Special Olympics or Central Wesleyan Church Mission Fund.
