Mrs. Jean A. (Goulooze) Roedema, age 98, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, peacefully passed into eternal life on Friday, March 4, 2016. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold W. Roedema, in 2009. Jean was a graduate of Calvin College and taught in area Christian schools before she was married. After raising her children, Jean received her Master's Degree through Western Michigan University and taught for many years in the Grand Rapids Public School System. At the time of her passing, Jean was honored to be the oldest member of the West Leonard Street Christian Reformed Church. Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Alvin and Patricia Brink of Wisconsin; William and Mary Roedema; Joyce and Steven Vander Kamp; Kenneth Roedema, all of Grand Rapids; and Linda and Stephen Breen of Iowa. She also will be missed by her 15 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, and several loving nephews and nieces. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Sunday March 13, from 2:00 - 5:00 PM and on Monday, 10:00-11:00 AM at the Heritage Life Story Funeral Home-- 2120 Lake Michigan Drive NW. The Celebration Service for Jean's life will be held on Monday March 14 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
