Jason Haines of Portage, formerly of Tecumseh, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018, at the age of 43. He grew up in Tecumseh and graduated from Tecumseh High School. He then attended Jackson Community College and Kalamazoo Valley Community College when he moved back to the Kalamazoo area.

Jason enjoyed spending time with family and was very close to his grandmother. He enjoyed playing baseball and tennis when he was younger and watching them as he got older. He also loved going on vacation, especially to Myrtle Beach. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Jason is survived by his daughter, Jordynne Haines, of Vicksburg; mother, Beth Haines, of Adrian; father, David (Kelly) Haines, of Tecumseh; Grandmother, Elizabeth Lowe, of Vicksburg; siblings, Jared Haines, of Adrian; Jordan (Amanda) Haines, of Milford; Lauren Haines, of Westland; Garrett and Catherine Haines, both of Tecumseh. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard Lowe and Charles and Joan Haines.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 11am at the McCowen & Secord Family Funeral Home, Rupert-Durham Chapel, 409 S. Main, Vicksburg (269-649-1697). The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service starting at 10am. The burial will be at Mint Cemetery.
