Janis Cole

Janis Blossom Cole, age 72 of Delton, Michigan passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2019. She was born on August 1, 1947 in Columbus, Ohio to Lyle and Marian Blossom. Janis's interest in food service led her to jobs at The Spaghetti Bender in Ypsilanti, The Buckingham and The Waterfront in Battle Creek, Delton School Systems and the Moose Lodge. She truly loved connecting with people through work as well as her hobbies. Janis was an avid traveler, canner, euchre player, gardener and reader. Family was her greatest passion. When her grandson Cole became involved in sports, she never missed a hockey, baseball or football game. Her family celebrated her birthday with a yearly family camping trip at her cousin Larry Squires' property in Rockford, Michigan. Janis will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched. Janis is survived by her daughter, Sara Cole, two grandchildren, Cole Lane and Evelyn Cole and their grandfather Tom Cole. She also leaves behind her sister, Judy (Bill) Risdon and their children, Ben Risdon and Jane (Ryan) Daniel, her sister-in-law, Ruth (Bill) Howard, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Janis was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Steven Blossom. A Celebration of Life dinner and gathering will be held on Thursday, September 19 at 5:00 pm at the Moose Lodge in Delton, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made to the Moose Lodge in Delton.
