Janice Hough

Hough, Mrs. Janice D. Kalamazoo, MI A beloved daughter of her Heavenly Father, saved by grace through faith in Christ, Janice fell asleep in Jesus at her residence the evening of July 16, 2020 and entered into the joy of her Lord. Janice was born June 23, 1937 in Hammond, Indiana a daughter of James and Ethel (Katzvinsky) Kocman. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1997, coming from Holt, MI. Janice was a very active member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Holt until moving to Kalamazoo where she then became a very active member of St. Michael Lutheran Church in Portage (doing such things as teaching children and serving on the Evangelism Board). She was preceded in death by her parents; and a granddaughter, Jessica Ketchum in 1997. On August 28, 1992, she was united in marriage to Mark A. Hough who survives. Also surviving, 4 children, Julie McCallum of Lansing, Jay (Lori) Hatz of Boca Raton, FL, Jonathan (Marti) Hatz of Okemos, MI, and Jane (Michael) Thelen of Holt, MI; 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; a sister, Karen (Glenn) Neal of Charlotte, MI; 2 nieces; and a nephew. Her funeral service will be held 1 o'clock Wednesday, July 22nd at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 7211 Oakland Dr. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan, St. Michael Lutheran Church Endowment Fund, and to Lutherans for Life.
