Janet Redder, age 95, of Holland, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at American House (Oak Crest).

Janet was born in Scharmer, Netherlands on December 27, 1919 to Ralph and Grace (Heidema) Veenhoven.

She immigrated in 1925 to Holland, MI.

Janet married Edwin C. Redder on November 16, 1948.

She was a bookkeeper at Holland Furnace Company and payroll secretary for Holland Public Schools, until her retirement in 1983. Following 10 years of retirement, she went back to Holland Public Schools, where she worked in the lunch program, until she was 92.

Janet was a life member of the New Apostolic Church, where she sang in the choir, was the church organist, and taught Sunday school.

Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin C. Redder in 1975.

She is survived by her children, Edwin Charles II and Jill Redder of Holland and Lynda Redder of Holland; 2 grandchildren, Rebecca and Ryan Boersema and Nathan Redder; 1 great-grandson, Owen Boersema; several nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday, May 23, 2015, at the New Apostolic Church, 117 West 14th Street, with Ev. Scott Heidema officiating.

Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 pm Friday, at the Dykstra Funeral Home-Mulder Chapel, 188 West 32nd Street.

Memorial contributions may be made to the New Apostolic Church Youth Group or Hospice of Holland.
