Janet Owen

Janet M. Owen, age 83, of Kalamazoo Janet went to be with the Lord on Friday, Feb. 2, 2018 in the care of Allegan Wings of Hope. She was born on March 11, 1934 in Plymouth, IN, as Janet Mar-dell Judge, to the late Erroll Sr and Jocie (Sprout) Judge, later moving to the Kalamazoo area. On November 24, 1951, she married Leonard C. Owen, who passed away in June 1998. Also preceding her in death were two brothers: Erroll 'Butch' Judge Jr and Gerald 'Jake' Judge; and two sisters: Sally Heaton and Joyce Mathews. Surviving are four children: Patrick Sr (Lavon) Owen, Shelley Fuhrman, Robert Owen and Sally (Larry) Jones; six grandchildren: Patrick Owen Jr, Mac (Kelli) Jones, Samuel (Barb) Owen, Christopher Owen, Ryan (Caryn) Fuhrman and Katey Fuhrman; three great-grandchildren: Steven Jones, Christopher Owen and Gabriel Fuhrman; three sisters: Dollie (Ben) McMahan, Sandra (Mike) Tallon, Marilyn Mathews; and several nieces and nephews (who called her "Aunt Toot"). She was a very creative woman who loved baking, cake decorating, knitting, and crocheting. Janet loved caring for others and would help whenever possible. Janet's true passion was her love of God and her strong faith. She loved church services, the choir, assisting with church dinners, teaching Sunday school or any activity to express her love of God. Tears of loss and love will be shed as God welcomes her with open arms. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, Feb. 7, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S.
