With her family by her side, Janet M. Cunningham, age 82, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, August 26, 2016 at her residence. Janet was born in Racine on August 30, 1933, daughter of the late Joseph and Evelyn (nee: Lui) Vash and was a lifelong resident.

Janet graduated from Wm. Horlick High School “Class of 1951”. On September 27, 1952, she married the love of her life, Alphonse Cunningham at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Janet was employed with Holy Name School from 1968-1977 and S.C. Johnson from 1977 until she retired in 1992. She was a longtime dedicated member of St. Richard Catholic Church, Holy Name Altar Society and the JMBA Fast Feet Group.

Janet will be dearly missed by her loving husband of sixty-five years, Al; children, Dr. James (Debbie) Cunningham of Brookfield, Joan (John) Perugini of Racine, Joseph (Janet) Cunningham of Racine, Daniel (Kristin) Cunningham of Prairie du Sac; grandchildren, Jennifer (Brian) Schreiber, Christopher Cunningham, Stephen (Meghan) Cunningham, Jessica (Kevin) Maes, John (Allison) Perugini, Diane Cunningham (fiancé Kurt Rasmussen), Michael Cunningham, Evelyn Cunningham, Evan Cunningham; great grandchildren, Luke, Grace, George and Walter, Henry, John, William and Frank; brothers, Bernard (Elizabeth) Vash, Joseph (the late Phyllis) Vash; sisters, Marilyn (Lawrence) Lehner, Kathleen (Richard) Keller; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Richard Catholic Church, 1503 Grand Ave, on Tuesday August 30, 2016, 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Allen J. Bratkowski officiating. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Relative and friends may meet with the family at the church Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Memorials to HALO have been suggested.
