Janet Cavanaugh

Died Tuesday morning October 22, 2019. Janet was born February 13, 1934 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a daughter of Clair and Grace (Prindle) Copeland. She had been a lifelong Kalamazoo resident and was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Janet was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Collen Copeland; and a brother, Richard Copeland. On February 22, 1952, she was united in marriage to Russell J. Cavanaugh who survives. Also surviving, 3 children. Michael (Sally) Cavanaugh of Gobles, Linda (Michael) Landry of Vicksburg, and Kim (Jeff) Williams of Portage; 3 grandchildren, Aaron, Brandon, and Angela (Phillip) Whittaker; 2 great-grandchildren, Chloe and Sophie; a brother, Robert (Mary) Copeland of Cooper, sister-in-law, Barbara Copeland of Kalamazoo; a step sister, Marcia Jowers of Texas; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11 o'clock Friday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 411 E Centre Ave, Portage, MI 49002. Visitation will be 4-7pm Thursday. Interment will be in South Portage Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Spina Bifida Foundation or the Michigan Heart Fund.
