James White

James Lynn White, age 81, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away January 19th, 2017 with his family by his side. Jim was born November 25, 1935 to Lynn and Mildred White of Kalamazoo, MI. Jim served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his years of service, he returned home to Kalamazoo where he resided and raised his family. Jim, Jimmy, Jimbo as known to his family and friends had a special recipe for life. He had a passion for cooking with much detail and perfection, spending time with his family and friends and always good for a laugh with anyone who knew him. Jim is survived by his daughters, Julie Lamorandier, Vickey and Jeff VanDenBerg, Lisa White and Stephanie Archie; Grandchildren, Nicole MacLeay, Jason Lamorandier, Samantha Lamorandier, Lyndse VanDenBerg; Great Grandchildren, Luke and Landon MacLeay and Brother-in-law, Robert Samuelson. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Lynn and Mildred White and Sister, Beverly Samuelson. Burial will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery. A celebration of Jim's life will be held Saturday, January 28th at McGonigles Irish Pub, 3512 East Main Street, Kalamazoo at 1:00 p.m. The family of Jim would like to extend special thanks to the staff and friends at The Springs at the Fountains, Kairos Dwelling and Reverence Hospice for their compassion and care.
