James “Jimmy” Tyink Jr., age 80, of Holland, went to meet his Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 13, 2016.

Previously attending Immanuel Baptist, he recently attended Central Wesleyan Church. He was a plumber, pipefitter, welder by trade and a hobby farmer who loved the land and John Deere. His passions were his faith, family, farming and serving others. Jimmy was known for lending a hand and for making everyone feel special and important with his natural sense of humor and love for people—a friend to all he met. He had a unique, gentle way of instructing the young, advising the older and elevating everyone around him. He will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by two brothers Alvin Tyink and Delbert Tyink and sisters Sally DeHaan, Donna Bos and Kay Bruursema.

He is survived by Myra, his wife of 59 years, and children: John and Cheryl Tyink of Peabody, Kansas and Sandy and Gary Van Ravenswaay of Holland; grandchildren: Stephanie and Ross Vander Kooi, A.J. Tyink, Amanda Tyink, Jennifer VanRavenswaay, Bri VanRavenswaay, Jimmy Van Ravenswaay and Danny VanRavenswaay; 3 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Russ Tyink of Holland; Esther and Jason Ebels of Holland; Jean and Bud Whitehead of Jacksonville, FL and Carla and Bill Vander Bie of Holland; brothers-in-law: Bill Ooms of Holland, Bill and Lois Beekman of Fremont, John and Bev Bos of Grand Haven and Jim Wilson of Texas; sisters-in-law: Marlene Tyink of Holland, Mary and Dave Kaniff of Holland and Rose Beekman of Florida; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Central Wesleyan Church Chapel, 446 West 40th Street in Holland. Please use entrance G. Reverend Larry Johnson will be officiating. Burial will be in Graafschap Cemetery.
