James Thompson

James D. Thompson, age 80, of Comstock, MI passed away Tuesday afternoon, December 20, 2016 at his home. James was born July 1, 1936 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri the son of Hartman and Vida (James) Thompson. Prior to his retirement he was employed for many years with the Borroughs Corporation. James enjoyed spending time outdoors. He especially enjoyed fishing, doing yardwork and gardening. On August 20, 1971 he was united in marriage to his loving wife, Sharon who preceded him in death on November 28, 2009. He is survived by his children, Frances Thompson, Debra Thompson, Thomas Coffey, John Coffey; 5 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may meet the family from 11-1:00pm on Friday, December 23 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Comstock Chapel, 6121 King Highway. A graveside service will follow at 1:30pm Friday in Maple Grove Cemetery in Comstock. Following the graveside service friends are invited to join the family at Niko's Landing for a time of fellowship.
