James P. Martin, age 62, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Froedtert Memorial Hospital, Wauwatosa. He was born in Racine, November 28, 1955, son of the late Robert and Peggy (Nee: Doolin) Martin.

Jim was a graduate of Washington Park High School “Class of 1974” and Ripon College. On August 11, 1979 he was united in marriage to Kathleen “Kathie” Gibson. He was employed by the Garvey Group for thirty-seven years, retiring January of 2018. Jim was an active member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church where he was head of the acolytes and served on the vestry. He also served on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters and was a member of Harbor Lite Yacht Club. An avid golfer and fisherman, Jim especially loved time spent with his grandchildren.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of thirty-eight years, Kathie; his children, Matthew (Karie) Martin of Fort Atkinson, Patrick Martin (fiancée, Michelle Drott) of Racine; his two grandchildren, Kaden and Ella; brother, Jeff (Mary) Martin of Delafield; sister, Jane Fox of Racine; mother-in-law, Delores (Nee: Heck) (Bernie) Kunka of Racine; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John Gibson of New City, NY, James (Carol) Gibson of Barrington, IL, Rebecca (Kevin) Christensen of Neshota, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, John Gibson and brother-in-law, Gary “Bubba” Fox.

A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, June 10, 2018, 3:00 P.M. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 614 Main Street, with Fr. Seth Raymond and Fr. James Kaestner concelebrating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Sunday at the church from 1:00 P.M. until time of service at 3:00 P.M. Memorials to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church or to Big Brothers Big Sisters have been suggested.
