James Love, age 74, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away Monday, Aug. 14, 2017 at his home. James was born Sept. 27, 1942 in Burlington, VT, and lived in the Kalamazoo area the majority of his life. He served with the US Army. He retired from Parker-Hannifin where he worked all of his career and was a member of Local Union No 1666 of the UAW. James was known for his great sense of humor and was a wonderful dad. He loved cars, driving fast, and flying. Surviving are his wife, Barbara, whom he married in 1962; 3 children, Susan (Don) Powell of Sturgis, Brenda (Chris Danielczuk) Scott of Schoolcraft, Mary Boyer of Chicago; 14 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Debora. The family will meet friends 4-7 PM Thursday at the Gobles Chapel, D. L. Miller Funeral Home, where the funeral service will be 1:00 PM. Interment will follow with military honors at Robinson Cemetery, Bloomingdale Township. The family suggests memorials be made to the Kalamazoo County Humane Society.
