7/2/1961 - 7/12/2017 Mr. James E Hall, of Gobles, MI, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at the age of 56. James was born to parents Edward and Vera Hall on July 2, 1961 and grew up with his brother, Edward Hall, in Dowagiac, MI. He attended Decatur High School. Always in pursuit of higher education, he later received his Bachelor's Degree of Science in Nursing from Western Michigan University in 2004 and his Master's Degree from Spring Arbor University in 2016. He was employed as a nurse by Bronson Hospital and also at Great Lakes Home Health Care & Hospice where he was awarded with the Patients' Choice Award in 2011. James married Elaine Swearingen at Stetson Chapel in Kalamazoo, MI in 1999 while working together at Bronson Hospital and dedicating their lives to taking supreme care of others. James and Elaine enjoyed many wonderful experiences together including: traveling to Florida, the Bahamas and Mexico as well as many other places in the United States. Their best time was spent with their son Zachary in the home they established together. James enjoyed spending time outdoors and especially with his family at their cabin in Manistee, MI. He loved flying airplanes with his father, hunting with his sons Andrew & Zachary, shooting guns with family and friends and he always made sure there were four-wheelers, golf carts and snowmobiles to be entertained with. James dedicated many hours to his sons' football and baseball teams and could always be found on the sidelines treating the injured and helping with team activities. James also had a very creative, artistic nature about him. He painted beautiful pictures and crafted many wonderful items for his loved ones. James and his daughter Kara enjoyed a multitude of concerts and art shows throughout the years. James was especially fond of children and relished spending time with them. James was a member of Journey Family Church and enjoyed Sunday sermons, as well as their Wild Game Dinners and Journeymen breakfasts. James is survived by his wife, Elaine and their child Zachary; his 2 children Kara (Christopher) Alley and Andrew (Gaby) Hall from his first marriage; his mother Vera; his brother Edward (LouAnn) Hall; his mother-in-law Billi Cobb, his father-in-law Ed Swearingen; his sister-in-law Jenny (Kollin) Goodwin and nephew Kory Goodwin, his brother-in-law Robert Swearingen and many extended family members. He is preceded in death by his father Edward Hall and his beloved cat Buster. A funeral service for the public will take place at Gobles High School on Saturday, July 16th at 2pm followed by a luncheon. Cremation will occur and scattering of his ashes will take place privately by his family. Flowers may be delivered to their home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wings of Hope Hospice or the West Michigan Cancer Center.
