James Emery

James Elias Emery passed away June 2, 2018 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was born to Elias and Ethel (Troupe) Emery on February 24, 1933 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. James was proud of his service in the United States Air Force during the Korean conflict, serving his country for seven years. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #88, and was very strong in his faith. James is survived by his children; Sharon Stoken, Tina (Mick) Mikel, Jim (Staci) Emery, Sally (Tony) Cardenas, Jill (Steve) Kinkema, Diane Gonzales, Karen (Brian) Thomlinson; 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He is preceded by wife Veronica Emery; sons John Patrick Emery and Steven John Emery; daughter Mary Allen Owens; siblings Lavern Emery, Charles Emery, Mary Rekucki, Theresa Humphreys, and Evelyn Downing. Services for James will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on June 8, 2018 at 11:00 AM. Luncheon to follow. Memorial contributions can be made to Michigan Heart Association, Hospice of Greater Kalamazoo, and Hospice of SouthWest Michigan.
