James Arthur Collins, born August 3, 1936 in Barnabus, Logan County, WV to Orville and Ruth Collins. Graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School and Western Michigan University with a BS Degree. He was also in the first graduating class of KVCC. He served three years in the U.S. Marine Corps (of which he was very proud), and three years in the Air Force. He worked 40 years for the U.S. Postal Service, rising from letter carrier to the ranks of middle management. He served on the National Board in Washington D.C. for postal supervisors, as National Vice President, Central Region, representing 13 States. James was also elected in 2000 to the position of Township Supervisor for Climax Township. In 1960, he married the love of his life, Donna Jean Lamoreaux, who preceded him in death in July of 2013. They were married for 53 years. They were the proud parents of two sons, James R. and David J. David died in July of 2001. James was also preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, Patricia, Louise and Carole. He is survived by his son James (Wilda); siblings, Thomas (Jean), Richard (Ellie), Linda (John), Donnella (John), and Phillip. Also, several grand and great-grandchildren. In addition to his survivors, he leaves behind his loving dog companions, Lilly Rose, Max and Missy. The family will greet friends on Monday, January 14th from 10-11 am at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Climax Chapel, 205 E. Maple St., where the funeral service will begin at 11 am. Rev.
