Surrounded by his family, James A. Hansen, age 57, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Aurora Medical Center, Kenosha. He was born in Racine, November 5, 1959, son of the late James F. and Betty (Nee: Hart) Hansen.

On Sept.15, 1979, at Gethsemane Lutheran Church Jim was united in marriage to the love of his life Michelle “Shelley” L. Trehus. Together they had two sons, Jason and Aaron. Jim was a hardworking man always there to lend a helping hand. In his earlier years he worked as an independent cement contractor while employed full time for Racine Telecable then Time Warner. Later he worked as an independent over the road trucker. Jim loved the outdoors and enjoyed living in the country where he was proud to have built his home, pole barn and gardens. He treasured time spent with his family and friends be it at home or his place in Black River Falls hunting, four wheeling, wandering the back roads wherever he was, canoeing the river, raising chickens, riding motorcycle or bicycle, or enjoying conversation over a cup of coffee at a local restaurant. He will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his loving wife of 38 years, Shelley; sons, Jason (Amy Parr), and Aaron; grandchildren, David, Sean, Hailey, Michael and Madison; sister, Debra Robuck (Tom Schonter); brothers, Charles W. Hansen, Eugene A. Hansen, Troy M. (Michele) Hansen; mother-in-law, Elsie Trehus; in-laws, Cindy Kristopeit (Peter Harwood), Carrie Hargrave, and Connie (Thomas) Meredith Jr.; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his niece, Cary Robuck; nephew, Scott Robuck, and brother in law Dennis Hargrave, and father-in-law, Richard Trehus.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home, Friday, June 2, 2017, 12:30 P.M. Private interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday 11:00 A.M. until time of service.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Mullane and his staff and Aurora At Home Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.
