Jacqueline Heacock, age 76, of Galesburg, MI passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017. Jacqueline was born February 6, 1941 in Kalamazoo to the late Francis and Mary (Almack) Mays. She was a longtime member of the Comstock VFW, Post 6252 Ladies Auxiliary, serving as a Chaplain for 22 years and held many positions for the district, which she took great pride in. Her lifelong passion was helping others, including volunteering at the V.A. Hospital Palliative Unit, serving breakfast to veterans. She was formerly employed by Pete Stamos at his various restaurants and at Brown Company Manufacturing until she became disabled. She loved gardening and observing nature at its finest. She was a devoted mother, step-mother, daughter, grandmother, aunt and friend to all who knew her. Jacqueline is survived by her daughter, Charvel Heacock; step-daughter, Jamie (Anthony Thomas) Vaughn; grandchildren, Kayleigh (David) Decker and Deserai (Matthew) Anaya; great grandchildren, Matthew and Alexander; and nephew, Sean (Nicole Underly) Mays. She also leaves behind her lifetime friend, Pat Paling; and dear friends Joan Brooke, Wilma Cool, and Nancy Stockwell Timmons; and many other friends and loved ones; and her beloved cat Bobby (SheBob). And her longtime neighbors at River Manor Senior Housing in Galesburg. Jacqueline was preceded in death by her son, Jon Heacock. The family will greet friends on Tuesday, October 3rd from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., where a funeral service will take place on Wednesday, October 4th at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
