VandenBerg, Jacob "Jake" 11/29/1933 - 8/12/2016 Martin Township Age 82, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Friday, August 12, 2016 at Laurels of Sandy Creek in Wayland, MI. Mr. VandenBerg was born November 29, 1933 in Decatur, MI, the son of the late John and Jennifer (Myers) VandenBerg. Jake was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War. Jake was a member of the Martin Methodist Church. He worked for over 20 years at Lockshore Dairy, and then spent about 20 years as a truck driver for the Perrigo Company. Along with his other jobs, Jake has been a farmer most of his life, farming in the Martin area. He is survived by his loving wife, Kay; 5 children: Robert and Andrea VandenBerg, Ken and Jodi VandenBerg, John and Korene VandenBerg, Scott Page and Kelly Page; 9 grandchildren: Chase, Lindsey, Chet, Casey, Carly, Canton, Max, Phillip and Dara; 2 great-grandchildren: Taylor and Mack; 1 brother, Ken and Sharon VandenBerg; 1 sister, Eleanor VandenBerg; and 1 sister-in-law, Joyce McAllister; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Herm. Friends may meet with the family on Sunday, August 14 from 4-6 PM at the Gorden Funeral Residence, Allegan Chapel. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, August 15 at the Martin Methodist Church (969 E. Allegan, Street, Martin, MI 49070), Pastor Sean Kidd officiating. Memorials may be made to the William Crispe House, 203 W. Bridge Street, Plainwell, MI 49080. Private interment will take place at the Fennville City Cemetery.
