Jacob F. Kolassa, Jr. formerly of Lansing, passed away peacefully on Dec. 18, 2014. Jake was born, June 30th, 1936 the son of Jacob Frank and Edith (Case) Kolassa. He became a lifelong resident of Lansing.
Jake was the proud owner and operator of Kolassa Excavating. He loved his work. He also had a passion for Piloting his Cessna Airplane, racing motorcycles and snowmobiles, avid hunter, all of which he excelled in.
Jake is survived by his daughters, Kolleen (Jon) Lawniczak, Paula (Jeff) Dobler, 4 beautiful grand children, Maeve, Noah, Olivia and Phoebe, his longtime companion of 33 years, Karolyn Lippert and dear friend, Larry.
Jake was a member of St. Theresa Church and was preceded in death by his sister, Vivian Hand; parents, Edith and Jacob F. Kolassa, Sr. and his beloved dog "Ing"
