Jack Polstra

Rev. Jack G. Polstra, age 76, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away Saturday, November 21, 2015. Jack was born February 10, 1939 in Lafayette, IN, the son of John and Elizabeth (Vandergraff) Polstra. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Jack graduated from Bob Jones University and spent over twenty years working for several rescue missions. Surviving are his four children, Gordon (Patricia) Polstra of Kalamazoo, David Polstra (Carlos Hernandez) of Los Angeles, CA, Philip (Tamara) Polstra of Bloomsburg, PA and Elizabeth (Scott) Tavernier of Three Oaks, MI; five grandchildren; brother, Larry (Barbara) Polstra of GA; sister, Janet (Jack) Hawkins of Lafayette, IN; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; his beloved wife, Joyce Carrie Polstra, and a son, John Charles Polstra. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 30, at Faith Baptist Church, 56070 Murray Street, Mattawan, MI, with Pastor Chuck Rawsthorne officiating. Private interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 29, from 2-5 PM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Faith Baptist Church of Mattawan.
