Jack M. Levy, DDS, age 79, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at his home at the age of 73. He was born on December 23, 1942 in Ashville, NC a son of the late Robert and Helen (Lowenson) Levy. Jack served in the US Army as a dentist, returned to Kalamazoo and set up his private practice and retired after over forty years of service. On June 18, 1967 Jack married the former Eunice Kraus, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Paulette (Kyle) Thompson of Kalamazoo; two grandsons, Noah and Elijah Thompson; a sister, Thea (Barry) Fish of Ann Arbor, MI; a brother, Leonard (Lucy) Levy of Mt. Dora, FL; three brothers-in-law, Alan Kraus, Jerry (Linda) Kraus and Michael Kraus and his wife, Kathy Kordelski; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 on Sunday afternoon, October 9th at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street, with Rabbi Matthew Zerwekh of Temple B'Nai Israel, officiating. Jack's family will receive guests at the funeral home beginning at 12:00 and a reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Temple B'Nai Israel, P.O. Box 19666, Kalamazoo, MI 49019 or to the charity of one's choice.
