Iona Shelley

Shelley, Iona 7/11/1929 - 2/22/2019 Ypsilanti Iona Louise Shelley of Ypsilanti, MI died peacefully in the arms of her granddaughters on Friday, February 22, 2019. Iona was born on July 11, 1929 in Kalamazoo, MI, and married Lester F. Shelley on December 23, 1948 who preceded her in death. She was known to her family and friends for her faith in God, great humor and love for her family. She was preceded in death by her son William Shelley, her parents John and Rosa Farquhar and brother John Farquhar. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy(Joe) Kyle, son, Lester R. Shelley, grandson Matthew Kyle, granddaughters , Lauren(Maurice) Thomas, Ashley(Brandon) Albracht, Jenna(Ryan) Sharpe and seven dearly loved great grandchildren. She is also survived by her best friend of more than 60 years, Nina Sionkowski. Memorial Services will be held in April in Kalamazoo.
