Ida Anderson

Ida Anderson, age 93, of Portage, MI Loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2015. Ida was born in Oshtemo on December 5, 1921, the daughter of the late John and Kathleen (Kish) Geresy. She had worked for Sutherland Paper Company, Brown Company and James River Company. She was a caring person, who loved helping others in need. Her hobbies included, baking and gardening. She was married to Clifford Anderson on July 28, 1948; he preceded her in death on December 29, 2004. Ida is survived by her son, Warren Lee Anderson; two granddaughters, Khristina Anderson and Monica (Arthur) Priest; eight great-grandchildren, Zachary, Dalton, Colton, Dakotah, Josye, Maxwell, Brianna and Riley; a niece, Sandy (Rich) Ozanich; two nephews, Al (Pamela) Geresy Jr. and Louie (Barbara) Geresy Jr.; and numerous other relatives. She was preceded in death by five brothers, John Geresy, Louie Geresy, Albert Geresy, Mike Geresy and Steve Geresy. Friends may visit with the family from 1-2 p.m. on Friday, October 9th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St., where the funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Private entombment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Boy Scouts of America Southern Shores Field Service Council.
