Donald "Don" Logan, age 90, of Vicksburg, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning with his wife and hospice caregivers by his side. Don entered hospice care one year ago. Despite his strength, his body eventually began to fail as he became less responsive earlier in the week. Don was born on September 15, 1935, in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late William Ira and Mary Kitty (Pyburn) Logan.

Don was a hardworking man who believed, "if you don't work, you don't eat." He spent many years working at Brown Company as a backtender in Parchment, later known as James River, and after marrying Nancy in 1975, he went on to work for General Motors until his retirement. Following retirement and a move to Indian Lake, he continued working in grounds care at a local camp, where he was fondly known as "Donnie."

Don had four children from a previous marriage and, after marrying Nancy, lovingly raised her three children as his own. He cherished his children and grandchildren, and his life was centered around work, family, and church.

He enjoyed simple pleasures, especially playing checkers-always preferring a worthy opponent. He would scrunch his face in concentration, tuning out everything around him. Once, he and Nancy's aunt played until 11:00 p.m., each insisting on "just one more game" since they both wanted to win. He also loved horseshoes and built his own pit while living in Portage, where the sound of horseshoes striking the stake was often heard.

Don loved to travel. He and Nancy took 67 cruises to many destinations and vacationed in Hawaii each year while still working. He also visited or traveled through every U.S. state except Alaska.

Even as dementia set in, Don remained kind and loving, always with a smile on his face, often telling others, "I love you," even in moments of confusion. He was physically strong and always willing to lend a helping hand.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; son, Brian Seeley; and brother, John Ronald Logan.

He is survived by his loving wife and caretaker, Nancy Logan; children, John Logan, Donna Logan, twins Andy Logan and Amy (Lee) Jennings, Wesley (Kim) Seeley, and David (Brenda) Seeley; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Larry (Carol) Logan; sister-in-law, Lola Logan; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 1:00pm at ChapNaz Church, 7520 E U Ave, Vicksburg, MI 49097, where visitation will be from 12:00pm until the start of the service. A time to gather, share a meal, and reflect on cherished memories will immediately follow.

Don will later be interred at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Don's memory may be made to Indian Lake Nazarene Camp (memo: Camp Scholarships), 8258 Victory St, Vicksburg, MI 49097.
