Howard Ray

Ray, Howard A. Portage Passed away Friday morning, February 3, 2017 at his home. Howard was born June 29, 1937 in Fayetteville, NC the son of the late Alphonso and Daisey (Hales) Ray. Prior to his retirement in 2000, he worked for 44 years with James River. Howard enjoyed going for rides on his moped and loved spending time with his family and friends. On May 9, 1957 he was united in marriage to his loving wife Nancy (Roberson) who preceded him in death on September 21, 2015. He was also preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, John, James, Hazel, Ruth, and Jean. Howard is survived by his sons, Kevin Ray, Keith (Sonya) Ray; 2 grand-daughters, Ashley (Brandon) Volz, Chelsea Ray; 2 great-grandchildren, Liam and Rowan Volz; a sister, Hallie Hall; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Great Lakes Hospice for all of their help and care. Friends may meet the family on Wednesday, February 8 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre. Private family interment will be in Mt.
