Honey Lou Rose Mieczkowski, age 88, passed away on Thursday evening, April 20, 2017. Honey was born in Racine on August 31, 1928, daughter of the late Fred and Rose (nee: Gilliard) Schoeffler.

On the coldest day of the year in January of 1948, Honey was united in marriage to Michael J. Mieczkowski at St. Casimir Church in Kenosha. They were married for forty-five years until Michael passed away on June 18, 1991. Honey was a member of Bethel Baptist Church of Christ. An avid reader, Honey enjoyed pinochle, Yahtzee and Farkle with her family. She loved her many pets through the years, and enjoyed the outdoors watching the birds and squirrels. More than anything, she loved her time spent with her family.

Honey will be dearly missed by her children, Mark (Gail Ann) Mieczkowski, Kevin Mieczkowski, Michele Mieczkowski; daughter-in-law, Pamula Mieczkowski; grandchildren, Brandi Helmick, Laura Rose (Ryan) Hahn, Brett Mieczkowski; great grandson, Ashton Seth Hahn; brother, Robert Schoeffler; sister, Sandra (Dave) Dower; special friends, Pat and Don, Val, Barb, and Tom; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Honey was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Rose; sister, Clara (Jerry) Brown; and brother, Fred (Eleanor) Schoeffler.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday April 25, 2017, 12:30 p.m., with her son Rev. Kevin Mieczkowski officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:30 p.m. Private family interment will be held at St. George Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Habitat for Humanity have been suggested.

The family extends a special thank you to Dr. James Tierney and the staff at Ascension All Saints cardiac unit for all of their loving and compassionate care.
