Herta Wolf

Herta Wolf, 78 of Traverse City, died Sunday, September 18, 2016.

She was born on March 23, 1938 in Hann-Muenden, Germany the daughter of Marie Schaefer.

Herta is a Holocaust survivor. She didn't really talk much about the atrocities they endured.

She met her now former husband, Herbert Miller in Germany and through his encouragement they moved to the United States in 1965 through New York and settled in Maple Heights, Ohio a suburb of Cleveland. Herta attended Cosmetology school and had her own salon in the basement of their home. She then moved to Dearborn, Michigan and then back to Ohio for a period of time. She also lived in Kaleva and Lake City, Michigan.

Herta loved the outdoors, walking in the woods, camping and canoeing. At the young age of 78 she was still wanting to canoe and recently rode on a four wheeler, and loved going fast. Herta lived her life of Christ. She danced and loved God and was ready to go home when he called her.

Herta is survived by her, daughter, Heidilinde Miller of Traverse City; grandchildren, Sebastian Husacek, Sandy Apps and Tiffany Miller; great-grandchildren, Kayleb, Christian, Myra, Jazzy, Sebastiana, Sebastian II and adopted grandson, Suman Ghorui of India.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers and sisters.

Visitation will take place from 3pm to 7pm, Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at the Life Story Funeral Home, Traverse City. Funeral Services will be held 11am, Thursday, September 22, 2016 at the Haven of Hope Church, 3903Voice Rd. Kingsley, Michigan. The family will greet friends starting at 10am. Burial will be in the Solon Twp. Cemetery, Cedar, Michigan Memorial Contributions may be made to the Haven of Hope Church.
